And the final Final Little Giant Boardcast Receiver, as Transistors became widely available, tubes were being replaced as the primary method of construction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tubes would be around up to mid 1960s, but the public was wanting transistors for the smaller form factor of the radios<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would have preferred Popular Mechanics kept up the Little Giant series, recreating the Little Giant series with transistors, this might have helped people make the switch from tubes to transistor a little easier, looking at the same radio in Tubes and Transistors side by side<\/p>\n\n\n\n
