ELKINS — Edith Grace Isner, 89, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born Feb. 18, 1911, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Lloyd Thurman and “Mary” Maude Willis Murphy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She married Forest Isner on July 17, 1934, at Parsons. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Isner is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Philip “Jeanne” Buhler, Virginia, Mrs. William “Joanna” Lestik, Connecticut, and Mrs. Denver (Mack) “Linda” Knotts, Parsons; one sister, Mrs. Ervin “Peggy” Stalnaker, St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three nieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Poling, two stepbrothers and one stepsister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Isner graduated from Parsons High School in 1931. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Parsons. She played piano for the church for 20 years. She was a member of the Wellness Center, and was an avid painter and a seamstress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
