Gladys Harriet Rutherford 1937-2021 Obituary<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gladys Harriet Rutherford, 84, of Buckhannon, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 18, 1937, at Alton, WV a daughter of the late Walter and Brenice Audra Gould Simons. She was preceded in death in 1989, by her first husband Robert Godfrey and was united in marriage on June 19, 1993, to Clarence R. (Pete) Rutherford who survives.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Bonnie and husband Randy Ours of Buckhannon, Connie Reese and family of Ivy, Kristy Zink and family of Philippi, Lisa and husband Alan Tenney of Buckhannon, Robert and wife Marguin Godfrey of French Creek, Steven and wife Susie Godfrey of Thornton, and Greg and wife Jackie Godfrey of Buckhannon; stepchildren: James Carl Rutherford of Charleston, Melody and husband David Malcomb of Buckhannon, and Bethany Rutherford and family of Buckhannon; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one son-in-law Joshua Davis of Elkins; one daughter-in-law Amanda Godfrey of Anmoore; and one brother: Arthur \u201cBud\u201d Simons of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was also preceded in death by one son Ronald Ray Godfrey, one daughter Judy Davis, and five brothers.Gladys was a Christian by faith.The family would like to extend a special thank you to West Virginia Hospice for their wonderful care during this most difficult time.Friends will be received at the Cornerstone Community Church on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 9:00-11:00 AM\u2014the funeral hour with Pastor John Darnall and the Rev. Julie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hinkleville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
