On January 15, 1955 at Alexandria, VA she was married to Walter Earl \u201cWalt\u201d Burdick, who preceded her in death March 23, 2018. They had celebrated sixty-three years of marriage. Surviving are two sons, George Conley Nelson of Kearneysville, Dale Edward Burdick and companion Connie Bailey of Kearneysville; one daughter, Sharon Ann Straley and husband Jim of Kerens; one sister, Sue Ellen McDonald and husband Darrell of Winchester, VA; four grandchildren, Matt and Steve Straley and Amber and Joshua Burdick; and five great grandchildren, Jaxon, Piper, Tristan, Jeffrey and Larissa.<br>Preceding her in death are three brothers, Alvin C., Robert O., and Howard B. Bush; and one sister, Erica Nell Bush.<br>She was a graduate of Charles Town High School and was a graduate of the Beauty Academy of Virginia. She was a lifelong beautician and after moving to Elkins she owned and operated her own shop, the Elkins Barberette until her retirement in 1997. She was an active member of the Aerie # 2344, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary serving in many offices and traveling to Eagles functions. She served as WV State President in 2007-2008. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and working with her plants and flowers. She loved her dogs and especially her family.<br>The family will receive friends at the Lohr &amp; Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 7 PM, Monday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Tuesday, December 14 , 2021 at 11 AM. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
