Canterbury Sr. and Dora (Hamrick) Canterbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is survived by wife, Jeanie Canterbury (McDonald), whom he married Oct. 11, 1958.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also surviving are daughter, Tammy Payne (Harry) of Belington; son, Timothy Canterbury (Laura) of Belington; grandchildren, Christopher Payne (Kylie), Benjamin Payne (Betty), Nick Payne (Mandy), Traci Gallagher (Tom) and Aaron Harris (Lana); great-grandchildren, Zoe Payne, Phaedra Payne, Arden Payne, Annalyn Payne, Gideon Payne and Kiara Vanscoy; sisters, Carolyn Canterbury, Dorothy Ware (Skip), Doris McWhorter (John) and Vickie Clutter (Bob); and brothers, Kenneth Canterbury and Victor Canterbury (Linda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preceding him in death was one sister, Ruth Coontz; brother-in-law, Billy Coontz; and sister-in-law, Marlean Canterbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eddie was retired from the U.S. Forest Service as a Budget Analyst. He was a past President of the Belington Kiwanis Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was also a past member of the Barbour County Board of Education in the early 1980s, when seven new schools were built in the county. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was a former member of the Barbour County Commission. Eddie was well known throughout the county, as he was always active in many events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He and Jeanie loved taking spur of the moment trips and outings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He loved spending time with family and helping organize family get-togethers. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per Eddie\u2019s request cremation will be honored.
