Ronald \u201cRonnie\u201d<\/em> McDonald, 83, a former resident of the Bretz community, Hambleton, passed from this life Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Elkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ronnie was born Sunday, Feb. 5, 1939, in Hendricks, a son of the late William \u201cBill\u201d<\/em> McDonald and the late Bessie Johnson McDonald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth \u201cAnn\u201d<\/em> Murray, who preceded him in death on July 18, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Left to cherish Ronnie\u2019s memory is a son, William \u201cBilly\u201d<\/em> McDonald, of Parsons; a daughter, Dorothy Phillips and husband, Phil, of Montrose; a brother, Robert \u201cBob\u201d<\/em> McDonald and wife, Donna, of Beckley; a sister, Greta Schunter and husband, Chris, of St. Augustine, Florida; and many nieces and nephews, and special friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preceding Ronnie in death besides his parents and wife was a daughter, Anna McDonald; a daughter-in-law; Becky McDonald; and three brothers and three sisters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ronnie attended the schools of Randolph County and was a former employee of Lambert\u2019s Chevrolet, Memorial General Hospital and Davis Memorial Hospital before becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard darts, horseshoe and especially enjoyed his grand cats, Miss Ginger and Miss Cricket. He loved spending time with his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ronnie was a Protestant by faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, from 11 a.m. to noon, the funeral hour. James Snyder will officiate, and interment will follow in the Parsons City Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ronald (Ronnie) McDonald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
