{"id":112664,"date":"2022-03-12T16:29:33","date_gmt":"2022-03-12T21:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.snapwhole.com\/index.php\/martha-mearns-west-1912-2003-obituary\/"},"modified":"2023-01-17T01:05:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T01:05:10","slug":"martha-mearns-west-1912-2003-obituary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.snapwhole.com\/index.php\/martha-mearns-west-1912-2003-obituary\/","title":{"rendered":"Martha Mearns West 1912-2003 Obituary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color\">Martha Mearns West 1912-2003 Obituary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<center><a style=\"color:Tomato; \" href=\"https:\/\/www.snapwhole.com\/index.php\/randolph-county-west-virginia-area-obituaries\/\">Return Randolph County Area Obituaries Home Page<\/a><\/center><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p>Martha Mearns West, 91, of 17 Sedgewick St., Buckhannon, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at her home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was born March 29, 1912, in Buckhannon, the daughter of the late Calvin Lee Mearns and Ada Casto Mearns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Surviving are three daughters, Rosalee West of Wampum, Pa., Jean West Ward of Buckhannon and Rebecca W. Kunzelman of Fairmont; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1932. She was a school teacher and retired from teaching in 1972. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was a member of the Emeritus Club of West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 11 at Lorentz Church Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The Rev. Gary Stackpole will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph\u2019s Hospice at 1 Amalia Drive, Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201 or to Buckhannon Habitat for Humanity, P.O.
