Basil Oden Wilfong, 66, a resident of Weston, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born Aug. 4, 1936, in Buckhannon, he was the son of the late Herbert \u201cHib\u201d and Ethel Wilfong<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is survived by one son, Leslie Wilfong and daughter-in-law, Kelley, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Wilfong of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Jessie Smith and Delorse Tenney, both of Buckhannon; and 10 nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dayton Wilfong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Wilfong attended the Broad Street United Methodist Church in Weston, retired from the Weston State Hospital and was a veteran of the Army. He was a chaplain for American Legion Post 13 of Clarksburg and a board member of the Lewis County Senior Citizens Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Broad Street United Methodist Church in Weston. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 13 of Clarksburg and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9151 of Clarksburg. The Rev. Clifford West will be presiding. Interment will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville. Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements for Basil Oden Wilfong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
