John Wendel Bailey, 85, a resident of Route 2, Box 302, Buckhannon, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at St. Joseph\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born April 17, 1918, in Tallmansville, the son of the late John A. and Martha Byrd Bailey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His wife, Clara Miller Bailey, preceded him in death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surviving are one sister, Tillie Quick of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Bailey worked as a coal miner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. No funeral services will be held. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
