William P. Beathe Sr., 73, of Hinkleville, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at his home under the care of St. Joseph\u2019s Hospice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born Sept. 20, 1930, at Camden on Gauley, Webster County, the son of the late Edith Beathe Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was united in marriage on Dec. 23, 1947, to Doris Ann Sparks Beathe, who survives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is also survived by one son, William P. Beathe Jr. of Buckhannon; two daughters, Sherri Donna Hammons of Shelby, N.C., and Karen Lynn Morris of Summersville; five grandchildren, Johnathon Hammons and Shawna Hammons Henderson, both of Shelby, N.C., Kevin Mullens of Fenwick, Mark Beathe and Steven Beathe, both of Buckhannon; two stepgrandchildren, Tony Morris and Marletta Dorsey; one great-grandson, Mason Henderson of Shelby, N.C.; five stepgreat-grandchildren and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Georgia Ann Mullens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Beathe attended the Rock Cave Baptist Church. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends will be received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Jessie and Pastor Dennis Estes officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Inc. is in charge of the arrangements for William P. Beathe Sr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
