Elsie O. Gibson Utt, 96, of Harmer Place Nursing Home, Marietta, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Harmer Place Nursing Home in Marietta, Ohio.

She was born July 4, 1906, in Braxton County, a daughter of the late George D. and Birdie Coo Brown Gibson.

Surviving are two sons, Ira M. Utt of Charleston, and Brice Utt of Columbus, Ohio; four daughters, Nealie Coo Dettrey of Philadelphia, Pa., Freda May McGee of Sulpher, La., Shirley Webster of Philippi, and Mona Kolshorn of Marietta, Ohio; two sisters, Nellie Fisher of Woodstock, Ga., and Arretta Robinson of Warren, Ohio; 48 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three children, Carson Utt, Rosetta Lower and Patricia Lois Williams; three brothers and one sister.

She was a homemaker and a former member of the Union Mission Church of Stonewood.

Friends will be received at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Junior B. Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery at Replete. Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements for Elsie O. Gibson Utt. From 19 Jun 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
