Shirley Corrine Gaynor 1936-2022 Obituary<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shirley Corrine Gaynor, 85, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday March 24, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family following an extended illness.Shirley was born May 16, 1936, in Boulder, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Dorsey David Markley and Velva Lee (Wilmoth) Markley.Shirley was united in marriage on July 4, 1957, to Gerald \u201cBucky\u201d Gaynor, who survives at home.Also surviving are children, Tammy Stemple and husband, Rod, of Philippi, Mark Gaynor and wife, Brenda, of Philippi, Stephanie DiNunzio and husband, Jerry, of New Jersey, and Chasity McCartney and husband, Jeff, of Philippi; grandchildren, Kristin Nestor, Anthony Gaynor, Amber Gaynor, Tyler DiNunzio, Alex DiNunzio and Riley McCartney; and great- grandchildren, Harper and Adler NestorShirley was preceded in death by her parents, as well as three brothers, Clay, Donald and David Markley; two sisters, Virginia Lantz and Betty Boyles; and an infant daughter.She attended the Jerusalem United Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, shopping, attending WVU football games, going to the movies and most of all spending time with friends and family. Shirley worked in earlier years for High Shear Corp. in Los Angeles, California, while her husband, Bucky, was stationed there. She also worked as a WV telephone operator.Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Saturday, March 26 from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sam Haught officiating.Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery.The family asks that mask be worn for those attending the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
