Lillie Cross Ginger, 68, a resident of Third Street in Belington, departed this life at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, in the emergency department of the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

She had been in failing health for quite some time.

She was born April 27, 1935, in Barbour County, the daughter of the late Thurmond and Thelma Ryan Cross.

She was twice married, formerly to Roy Bennett, who preceded her in death, and presently to Randy Ginger, who survives at their home in Belington.

She is survived by two sons, James Lynn Bennett and wife, Shirley, of Belington, and Bernie Bennett and wife, Kate, of Belington; three daughters, Ruth Ann Hoffman and husband, Arnold, of Preston County, Mary Sue Reel and husband, Mike, of the Audra community, and Doretta Bennett of Norton; and one brother, Henson Cross of Belington.

Grandchildren surviving are Susan Bennett; Dusty Bennett; Crystal Rhoades, whom Mrs. Ginger raised; Nancy Miles; Sally Hoffman; Lisa Hoffman; Robin Reel; Vicki Reel; Gary Reel; Rhonda Phillips, Allen Bennett; Jamie Bennett; Billy Bennett; and two stepgrandchildren, Joe Greathouse and Rachel Wrick.

Also surviving are 20 great-grandchildren and a 7-week-old great-granddaughter, Graci Lyn Lillian Schoonover, who was named after Mrs. Ginger.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Elizabeth Everson; and four half brothers, Bobbie, Jim, Earnest and Mason Scott.

Mrs. Ginger was a homemaker, attended the schools of Barbour County and formerly attended the Lambert Chapel United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. F.L. \u201cWink\u201d McQuain officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Cemetery near Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Lillie Cross Ginger<\/p>\n\n\n\n
