A new type of slide, a multi piece slide, carved as two separate pieces, or even three separate pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although it took longer to make, the skill level was about what the slide of the month had settled on, not really that difficult, but helped to develop the woodcarving skills of scouts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it also tested a scout’s ‘follow thru’, could they start a multi part project and finish it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These articles led to a monthly column in Boy’s Life – The Slide of the Month by Whittlin Jim Column<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W Ben Hunt created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle names, and published articles under all three name – Ben Hunt wrote 2-4 articles per month for Boy’s Life, and I think he created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle to make is seem like there were multiple authors writing the articles<\/p>\n\n\n\n
