Something to Whittle – Ben Hunt<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ben Hunt was a big proponent of whitting and wrote several books on the subjuct<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben Hunt was a be supporter of learning Native Americn Crafts, one of which was whittling<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Ben Hunt did a number of articles on Native American Crafts, there were few articles on learning to whittle, to offset, most of the Native American Crafts he presented in articles required whittling skills to complete<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I guess he was teaching whittling by doing, either way, the scouts that made his projects learned to whittle, even if they did not call it that<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These articles led to a monthly column in Boy’s Life – The Slide of the Month by Whittlin Jim Column<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W Ben Hunt created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle names, and published articles under all three name – Ben Hunt wrote 2-4 articles per month for Boy’s Life, and I think he created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle to make is seem like there were multiple authors writing the articles<\/p>\n\n\n\n
