He was born October 21, 1939 at Cassity, WV a son of the late Delpha and Gertrude Zirkle Smith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surviving are one son, Gregory Ralph Smith, Waynesboro, VA, two daughters, Diettra Dawn \u201cDee Dee\u201d Smith, Harrisonburg, VA and Lisa Morene Smith Antoline and husband Mike of Elkins. One brother, Leonard Smith of Rootstown, OH, three sisters, Virginia Cutright of Belington, Janice Markley of Coalton and Eva Markley of Mabie and three grandchildren, Kylie Morgan Antoline and Jacob Michael Antoline and Hannah Sinclaire Smith and Mr. Smith\u2019s faithful companions, Lucy and Fluffy also survive. Also preceding him in death was one brother, James Smith and one sister, Doris Arnold.<br>Mr. Smith attended the schools of Randolph County and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Davis Memorial Hospital for many years. He was a loving father and \u201cPapaw\u201d and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.<br>Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nancy Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road.
