I ride my bike a lot, and use my iphone to track my rides
On a long ride, the iphone battery goes dead, so I wanted a way to charge the battery while I ride<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could have purchased a battery pack that connects to an Iphone, but I wanted to use 9v batteries, and I did not want to buy a battery pack<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Materials needed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013 Cigarette Lighter Charger (male)
2 \u2013 Alligator Clips
2 \u2013 wires to connect alligator clips to Charger
1 \u2013 9v battery clip
1 \u2013 9v battery<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I removed the 9v battery clip from a dead 9v battery, and soldered 2 wires to the clip<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I clipped the positive wire to the center connector on the power adapter, and the ground wire to the sleeve of the power adapter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adapter is completed, you will need to attach a 9v battery to the clip, and install the clips on the power adapter, plug in a charging cable and charge your phone<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how does it work? GREAT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I carry a few 9v batteries when I ride and mount my phone on the handlebars, run the cable to the charger and my phone lasts an extra hour, and I can carry extra batteries<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also wire to a 12v car battery to have infinite battery life, very useful in a power outage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My phone battery lasts about 3 hours while riding, so the 9v battery charger will extend my phone\u2019s battery life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
