An Excel spreadsheet is described for scoring contests. Features for autosorting doing man-on-man events are described and cell formulas are shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brian Smith of TN provided photos and details of his device used to launchsailplanes without having to hold the model. Release is flat and takesplace at the same force each time based on the size and number of rubber bands. Diagram supplied. briansmith1@charter.net<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of an anniversary and a trip to Southern CA the author &wife purchased a package deal with Warner Springs Ranch and Sky Sailing fora weekend stay and sailplane ride. Special arrangements were made for Lee and his wife to fly at the same time in 2 separate gliders. The experience resulted in great pictures a great weekend treat and great soaring. Tips on photographing such adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part 2 of Dave Jones R-2 article. The original airfoil was modified froma 6% airfoil to a thicker one what could use thinner sheeting. Parts werecut and assembled on ceiling tile and glass plates. The wing planwas changed from a flat center with poly tips to a dihedral design.Ailerons were used for control along with elevators. Theconstruction is detailed to the point where the radio is installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dale tells of his trying for an altitude record in Germany with a Cirrus.They used a full size aircraft to keep an eye on the model but even sothe model went out of sight of the ground based pilot and wentdown. It was not found again. He met Johannan Graupner and visited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
