Swiss N-20 Aiquillon was shown in QFI July 94. The prototype was built in 1951. It flew several times. Beppe Ghisler decided to build a PSS version from plans and photos. 1.93M and 1.42M long 87 sq dm 3.2 KG Beppe used the Panknin Spreadsheet on B 2 Streamlines web page to computerthe needed twist in wings. 2 deg of washout used in tip section but not in root section (SN42 AF). Seattle Area Soaring Society lost several members because newcomers did not obey frequency control system. Foamy models are making it of no consequence to have a crash. Pre-built models reduce the sense of ownership. Members dont ask for help and dont know safety rules\/issues. Flying a combat model minimizes safety considerations we learned over decades. Solution: members ID newcomers and make sure they know the rules including AMA membership. Persons who violate rules are approached by a number of members and one member of the safety committee. Actions have improved field safety and more newcomers are joining the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
