I wanted to experiment with different strops and different Polishing Compounds from different Vendors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first Strop I made with Green Polishing Compound<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a BIG strop, I made it double width so I could work a knife from both sides and I could use the strop longer before I cleaned off the polishing compound and re-charged the green polishing compound<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What materials are required?<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strop Compound – Green<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leather <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wood for Backing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glue – Yellow Carpenters Glue Works Well<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started by Gluing the Leather to the Wood Backer Board<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used a board to clamp and hold the leather to the wood while the glue dried<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made the leather a little oversize and then trimmed to fit the backer baord<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I loaded the Green Polishing Compound on to the leather by rubbing the Green polishing compound stick on the leather, the rubbing action heated up the stick and helped to transfer the green polishing compound onto the leather<\/p>\n\n\n\n
