Beatrice Marie Pennington Johnston, 94, of Canaan Valley, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at Elkins under the care of WV Caring.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

She was born on June 29, 1926, in Dry Fork, a daughter of the late Gordon Dayton Pennington and Clemence Virginia (Roy) Pennington.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

On Jan. 26, 1946, she married Charles \u201cEverett\u201d<\/em> Johnston, who preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2013.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

She is survived by three daughters, Reva Jean Harman and husband, Joe, of Canaan Valley, Nettie Louise Johnston of Canaan Valley and Faith Elizabeth Mininger and husband, John, of Hickory, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Chad Wesley Harman of Harman, Heather Jo Brown and husband, Keith, of Valley Head, Lynne Michelle Bledsoe and husband, Keith, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and Aaron David Mininger and wife, Meredith, of Wilmington, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Wesley Harman, Addison Brown, Marcus Bledsoe and Bethany Bledsoe; one sister, Janice Lee Jones and husband, Raymond, of Richwood, Ohio; two brothers, George Henry Pennington and wife, Charlotte, of Harman and Ronald Keith Pennington and wife, Carol, of Seneca Rocks; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Preceding Beatrice in death, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sisters, Susan Fay Helmick and Ruby Helen Arbogast; one brother, Ezra Carl Pennington and infant brother John David Pennington.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Beatrice was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and watching Judge Judy. She was a member of the Riverside Mennonite Church and also attended the Harman Church of the Brethren.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flanagan Memorial Cemetery, 1815 Appalachian Highway Dryfork, WV 26263 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Friends will be received at Hinkle-fenner Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. \u2013 noon.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A funeral service will be conducted at noon with the Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Buena Cemetery, Canaan Valley.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
