McLake Thurston “Mac” Morrison, 85, a resident of 301 Findley St., Elkins, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 7, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born March 5, 1917, at Mingo, a son of the late Foley E. and Bessie Pritt Morrison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was married to Mary P. Morrison, who survives in Elkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Roy of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Janet S. Dahlin and husband, Robert, of Kingsport, Tenn.; one stepson, Jack Whitmire and wife, Eva Lou “Toots” Whitmire, of Lost Creek; two brothers, Ralph E. Morrison and wife, Delilah, of Akron, Ohio, and Alton R. Morrison and wife, Charlotte, of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Norma Bodkin and Nora Weese and husband, Blaine, all of Elkins; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Gael O\u2019Hare, Elsie White and Vivian Elaine Morrison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Morrison was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of Mac\u2019s Radio and Television Repair Service in Elkins for many years, prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends were received from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jeff Falter officiating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interment followed in the American Legion\u2019s Little Arlington Cemetery, where the presentation of the American flag was made by members of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins was in charge of the arrangements for McLake Thurston “Mac” Morrison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
