Hinkle, Jr., 82, of Nella\u2019s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs, and formerly of Selbyville, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Nella\u2019s.<br><br>He was born April 15, 1920, at Alexander, a son of the late Valentine C. and Elsie Hosaflook Hinkle.<br><br>He was united in marriage in June 1939, to Joy McDaniels Hinkle, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1984.<br><br>He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Leonard Gillum of Cleveland, Ohio; and one son and daughter-in-law, Linden and wife, Helen Morgan Hinkle, of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Lois Alderman of Buckhannon, Loeta Cutright of Cleveland, Ohio, and Luella VanGilder of Brook Park, Ohio; seven grandchildren, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.<br><br>He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.<br><br>Mr. Hinkle was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.<br><br>Friends will be received at Heavner &#038; Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. William C. Eskew Jr. officiating.
