Fitzwater 1925-2002 Obituary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<center><a style=\"color:Tomato; \" href=\"https:\/\/www.snapwhole.com\/index.php\/randolph-county-west-virginia-area-obituaries\/\">Return to Randolph County Area Obituaries Home Page<\/a><\/center><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p>Harold W. Fitzwater, 77, of Route 1, Philippi, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at the home he shared with his son.<br><br>He was born April 24, 1925, at Junior, a son of the late Talbert and Margaret Hinebaugh Fitzwater.<br><br>On April 25, 1947, he married the former Helen Y. &#8220;Bonnie&#8221; Hymes, who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1999.<br><br>Surviving are one son, Randall E. Fitzwater, with whom he made his home; three daughters, Mrs. Chuck (Vicki) Reed, Belington, Mrs. Gail (Beverly) Hardy, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Doug (Katrina) Meadows, St. Leonard, Md.; one brother, Raymond Fitzwater, Belington; two sisters, Kate Lemon, Akron, Ohio, and Midge Pratts, Surprise, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.<br><br>He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Aubrey, Stanley and Harry Fitzwater; and one infant sister.<br><br>Mr. Fitzwater was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army and was a life member of Laurel Mountain Post 410, VFW at Belington. He was a former coal miner, retiring from Wolverine Mining\u2019s Badger Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers, District 31. He was a Methodist.<br><br>Friends may call at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle N. Rider officiating. Interment will follow in Belington Fraternal Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color\">Harold W.
