Ike Burch Jr. 1937-2002 Obituary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Isaac N. &#8220;Ike&#8221; Burch Jr., 64, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at his residence.<br><br>He was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Elkins, a son of the late Isaac Newton Burch and Frances Iona Currence Burch Kerns.<br><br>Mr. Burch was a graduate of Michigan State University. He was a former employee with Georgetown Steel Corp. and Andrews Wire Corp. He was currently self-employed and also employed part-time with Horry-georgetown Technical College, Georgetown campus. He was a member of Back Woods Quail Club and a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church.<br><br>Surviving are his wife, Marilyn L. Burch; one son, Joe W.T. Burch of Socastee, S.C.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Susanne Marie Burch and Amiee Caroline Taylor Burch; one brother, John Paul Burch of Harrisonburg, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.<br><br>He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James L. Kerns.<br><br>The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorial funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Dennis Mardis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Georgetown Memorial Hospital Cancer Treatment Center, PO Box 1718, Georgetown, S.C. 29442.
