Mr. Harold Chester \u201cGooge\u201d Ogden, age 83 years, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Monday afternoon, May 25, 2020 at his home. He was born July 24, 1936 in Elkins a son of the late Chester Ogden and the late Rosa Lantz Ogden. On May 27, 1956, he was united in marriage to Nancy Mae Jones Ogden who survives in Elkins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ogden was a heavy equipment construction worker and owner of Ogden Excavating, Inc. in Elkins. He had a passion for racing cars and was inducted into the Elkins Motor Speedway Wall of Legends in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his wife, Mr. Ogden is survived by a sister, Helen Davis of Dryfork, WV; two sons, Jeffrey Ogden and Kevin Ogden both of Elkins and two grandsons, Matthew Ogden and Clinton Ogden both of Elkins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, three half-sisters and three half-brothers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Maplewood Cemetery. Dr. Ken Shiflet will officiate and interment will follow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family request contributions be made to Mountain Hospice, Inc., 1002 South Crim Ave., Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Mr. Ogden. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Harold Chester \u201cGooge\u201d Ogden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
