She was born November 14, 1941 in Rowan County, KY, a daughter of the late David Burke and Ruth Cox Alderman. On April 21, 1963 she married John Goss who survives. Also surviving is one son, John Paul Goss, II and wife Sam of Hodgesville, WV; one daughter, Jill Goss of Buckhannon; one grandson, Chad Goss of Morgantown, WV; five granddaughters, Johnelle, Jordyn, Jesika and Jonaye Goss all of Hodgesville and Shelby Starnes of Buckhannon; three step grandchildren, Erika, Jay and Lyndsey Trail and four step great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Alderman of Covington, GA and Ashley Alderman of Flemingsburg, KY and one sister, Myrna Carpenter of Conyers, GA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Lynn Goss; one step grandson, Kevin Starnes and two sisters, Ramona Semones and Kaye Frye. \u201cJoy\u201d was the owner of Joyce Ann\u2019s Beauty Shop and Smaller Measure\u2019s. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Friends will be received Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Cemetery at Hall, WV. In lieu of flower contributions may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church.   Poling-st.
