Harry Monroe Stemple 1945-2021 Obituary
Harry Monroe Stemple, 76, a resident of Valley Bend, passed from this life Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living in Elkins and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Harry was born in Oakland, Maryland and a graduate of Southern High School. He worked for the same company (WestVaco, MeadWestvaco, NewPage), retiring in 2010 after 40+ years.
He was preceded in death by parents, James Blaine Stemple and Sylvia Idabelle Griffith. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sonja, of Valley Bend, and brother James and wife Linda of Martinsburg WV. Also surviving are stepchildren, Sara Marquis, Kenneth High, David Eye, Deborah Nutter, Cheryl Hildreth, Tim Eye, and numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A stepson, Jeffrey Eye preceded him in death. Harry certainly loved his pets over the years. His Maggie and Mugsy surely do miss their Daddy.
Thanks to Mountain Memories (formerly Colonial Place) Convalescent Center, and West Virginia University Heart/vascular Institute. Special gratitude for the medical care and compassion Harry received by the providers and staff at Valley Heath Care over many years. He kept a special place in his heart for Dr Eric Anger, whom he also considered a great friend.
Harry’s wish for cremation will be honored. Date for Memorial Service is yet to be determined. Donations in his memory may be made to Mountain Hospice, The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association, or The Randolph Co (WV) Humane Society.
