Larry Frank Pennington, 68, of Elkins, passed away April 12, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Jan. 28, 1945, in Harman, a son of the late Oliver Mowery and Catherine Pennington.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace (Chisholm) Pennington; one sister, Lucy Chew, Harman; and one nephew, Jimmy (Jessica) Chew. He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Raines.

Mr. Pennington served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver for the majority of his life, but he also served as a police officer and security guard. He was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 0063 and the VFW Post 3647 of Elkins and VFW Post 5781 of Harman.

Friends will be received today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Harman Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Harman Presbyterian Church with Rev. Phillip Ryder officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.
