Flora Cathelene Baughman Marsh 1920-2002 Obituary

Flora Cathelene Baughman Marsh, 92, a resident of 212 Chestnut St., Philippi, passed away unexpectedly Sunday night, June 9, 2002, at her residence.

She was born May 18, 1920, at Volga, a daughter of the late Henry “Dutch” and Helen Barker Marteney.

She was twice married. In 1953, she was united in marriage to George Baughman, who preceded her in death. In 1995, she was united in marriage to Wilbert “Tee” Marsh, who survives at St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Also surviving are one son, George Andrew Baughman and close family friend Charlene Smyth, Clarksburg; two sisters, Flossie Kerr, Route 2, Belington, and Loueda Stafford, 212 Chestnut St., Philippi; three stepdaughters and stepsons-in-laws, Mary Kathryn and John Mosseso, Carolyn Sue and Bill Cunningham and Janet Sue and Jerry Nixon; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Donald Gene and Shirley Marsh; one brother-in-law, Orsie Smith, Youngstown, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Voughnee Smith and Eva Nuzum; and one brother, Junior Marteney.

She was a graduate of Clarksburg Business College. She retired as secretary from the Barbour County emergency squad. She was a member of Tacy’s Homemakers Club, a charter member of Rebekah Lodge No. 275. She was a member of Crim Memorial United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Dorcas Rebekah Lodge No. 275 will conduct memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Road’s Cemetery at Tacy.
