Stanley William Bonner, 1922-2002 Obituary

Stanley William Bonner, 80, a resident of Dry Fork, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, departed this life early Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown.

He was born May 1, 1922, at Mill Run, Hendricks, a son of the late Ira Lakin Bonner and Lena Carr Bonner.

On March 30, 1946, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Nettie Marguarite Cole, who preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1990.

Surviving are three sons, Garry Eugene Bonner and wife, Jeanne, Parsons, David Cleon Bonner and wife, Cathy, Hendricks, Douglas William Bonner and wife, Linda, Parsons; one daughter, Sandra Kay Lambert and husband, James R., Hendricks; five brothers, Don Bonner and wife, Louise, Parsons, Roscoe Bonner and wife Mary, Canton, Ohio, Paul Bonner and wife, Betty, Parsons, Coy Bonner and wife, Pat and Gerald Bonner and wife, Ellen, all of Hendricks; one sister, Naomi Bonner Sinclair and husband, Blaine, Parsons; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bonner and Forrest Bonner.

He attended the school of Mill Run. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an employee of the Penn Line Service of Scottsdale, Pa., where he retired. He was a member of the West Virginia Farm Bureau. He was a farmer and attended the First Baptist Church of Parsons.

The family will receive friends at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Allen Dale Crosten will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery in Parsons.
