Surrounded by her family, including all four of her children, Zetha Kaye Fluharty, 61, of Elkins, WV, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Kaye joined her late mother, Ila Geraldine Weese, in God’s perfect kingdom. Also awaiting her were brothers, Norman and Clifford and sister, Barbara. On June 29, 2011, she was married to Rick Fluharty, who survives. Also left to cherish Kaye’s memory are her two daughters; Debbie Ware and husband, Chad, along with their three children, Vivi, CeCe, and Chance, who Kaye loved and adored, and Ila Kerns and Garrett Bennett, her two sons, Stephen Kerns and wife, Rebecca, and Cody Kerns, along with their father, Stephen C. Kerns. She is also survived by stepsons: Jeff Fluharty and wife, Tellie, Scott Fluharty and wife, Charlotte, and Matt Fluharty and wife, Laurua, and stepdaughter, Amanda Stoddard, husband Matt, step grandchildren: Josh, Nathaniel, Andrew, Tristan, Matthew, Jessica, Alexis and Erin and one step great grandchild: Tylee. Siblings surviving are Gail Weese and wife, Dottie, Carroll Weese and wife, Georgie, Joe Weese and wife, Christy, Dennie Weese and wife, Patti, and Becky Hall as well as a large extended family including very special nieces and nephews. She was employed by the Randolph County Board of Education for many years. Her time as a school secretary allowed her to touch countless lives of the students and families of Randolph County. She knew no strangers and was referred to by most as “Mama Kaye”. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her time with her grandkids. Her hobbies included camping, dancing, playing music, riding motorcycles, and being in the sun. Kaye’s request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, June 16th at 2PM at Izaak Walton League in Beverly, WV. Details for the “Mama Kaye Memorial Fund” are not yet finalized. More information will be available in the near future.
