Ada E. “Betty” Fansler, 90, a resident of 109 Oakland St., Elkins, and a patient at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in the Davis Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 5, 1913, at Somerset, Pa., a daughter of the late Henry J. and Leora A. Long Shumaker.

On Sept. 19, 1935, she was married to Gordon W. Fansler who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1992.

Surviving are a son, Eric Paul Fansler and wife, Barbara, of Piketon, Ohio, and three grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Anita Cataline, and a son, Danny Fansler.

Mrs. Fansler was a retired secretary in the Elkins area. She was a member of the Elkins Church of the Nazarene.

Private graveside rites will be held at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elkins Church of the Nazarene, 503 Lincoln St., Elkins, W.Va 26241 in memory of Mrs. Fansler. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ada E. “Betty” Fansler.
