Alice Jane Leary Ketterman, 75, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Tuesday July 8, 2014, at Valentine Assisted Living in Beverly. Alice was born Sunday, May 28, 1939 in Randolph County, a daughter of Lewis Woodridge Leary and Arlene Elizabeth Leary. She married Hubert Ketterman who preceded her in death. Left to cherish Alice’s memory is one son, James “Jimmy” Hubert Ketterman, lifelong friends and caregivers, Liz and Tom Wymer, and one nephew Steve Ketterman and wife Lisa. Preceding Alice in death besides her parents and husband was one sister, Nancy Chenoweth and longtime companion Bill Kerr. Alice attended the schools of Randolph County and was a graduate of Elkins High School. She had been employed at Reidboard Bros. for thirteen years. However, Alice will best be remembered for her love of being a baby sitter for thirty years. Alice loved to travel across the country in the family motorhome and camp. She also thoroughly enjoyed attending dog races anywhere they stopped. Alice attended the Elkins Church of God. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Jill Snyder, Terri Lewis and the entire staff of Mountain Hospice. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2PM. Rev. Eli Hostetler and Rev. Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
