Allen Franklin Adams, 75, a resident of East Dailey, passed from this life Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at his home.

Allen was born on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1947, in Cass Lake, Minnesota, a son of the late Allen Henry Adams and Bertha Mae Mattingly Adams.

On Feb. 1, 1974, he married the love of his life to whom he was married for 48 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Martha Imogene Shaw Adams; three children, Allen Franklin Adams II and wife, Melindasue, of Minnesota, Debra Lynn Bitzer and husband, Mike, Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Kinnie Gerrard and husband, Jeff, of Washington state; two sisters, Mary Adams and Bertha Morrison; two brothers, Carl Adams and Tom Adams, all of Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, Amy Whetzel, Anna Whetzel, Logan Whetzel, Makala Adams, Katarina Adams, Kelsie Adams, Dakota Adams, Natasha Adams, Tanner Gerrard and JJ Gerrard; three stepgrandchildren, Tiffany Bitzer, Alex Kingbird and Elizabeth Vaucer; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Jane Gerrard; one great- grandson, Benjamin Gerrard; and his dog, Jake.

Besides his parents, Allen was preceded in death by one son, Allen Henry Adams; his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Pearl Shaw; and one brother-in-law, Glenn Morrison.

Allen attended school in Minnesota, and he had served in the Peace Corps and with the United States Army. He worked with the US Forest Service as a Water Technician for 36-plus years.

One of Allen’s passions was fighting fires in the west as a fire technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and movies. He was quite the storyteller. He loved his family above everything especially his grandchildren. He used any opportunity he could to teach his children valuable life lessons. Allen was a Methodist by faith.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral chapel on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11 a.m. Rev. Gary Reynolds will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.

The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Allen Franklin Adams.
