Annie Evelyn Riggleman Kimble, 80, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, the Crystal Springs community, departed this life at 8:52 a.m. Saturday, Aug., 31, 2002, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past few weeks.

She was born Oct. 22, 1921, at Petersburg, the daughter of the late Arlie Riggleman and Verna Calhoun Riggleman.

On Dec. 19, 1944, she was married to Alvie Martin Kimble, who preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1985.

Surviving are three sons, Alvie D. “Joe” Kimble and wife, Linda, Flatwoods, Larry Kimble and Kim, Elkins, Roger Kimble and wife, Jody, Coalton; six daughters, Shirley George and husband, Lloyd, Lordstown, Ohio, Linda Haines and husband, Bill, and Sharon Coberly and husband, Robert, all of Elkins, Patsy Cates and husband, Timmy, and Debbie Ratzer and husband, Fred, all of Beverly, Carol Mayton and husband, Dennis, Colonial Heights, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Cline, Arthur, and Dorothy Shobe, Petersburg; 19 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Riggleman; and one grandson, Justin Kimble.

Mrs. Kimble was a graduate of Franklin High School, retired from the West Virginia Children’s Home, and was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church at Upper Tract. She enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening.

Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Parker Cooer and Pastor Mike Allen will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens, formerly the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery.
