Arley Elwood Louk Jr., 58, of Walkersville, Route One, lost his gallant fight with cancer Nov. 8, 2002, at the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg.

He was born at Americus, Ga., Sept. 25, 1944, a son of the late Arley Elwood Louk Sr. and Lillian Irene Lee Louk.

He was married on March 13, 1971, at Newport, R.I., to Linda Colby, who survives along with two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Raymond Louk and wife, Bobbie, of Grovetown, Ga., and Kenneth Wayne Louk and wife, Melinda, of Norfolk, Va.; and two sisters, Shirley Ann Phillips of Proctorville, Ohio, and Alice Jean Gumm of Exchange.

Mr. Louk was a member of Rock Cave Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher, sound room technician for Taped Ministries. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served for 23 years. He was a retired EMCM (SW) and a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1962.

Friends were received at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home Sunday. Funeral services were held today at 11 a.m. at Rock Cave Baptist Church with the Rev. David Jessie officiating. Burial followed in Rock Cave Cemetery. The body lied in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral hour. Full military graveside services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent to Rock Cave Baptist Church Van Fund. Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
