Arnold Ray Watson, 70, of Belington, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born March 31, 1933, in Randolph County, a son of the late Perry Russell and Florence Oxley Watson.

On April 28, 1992, he was united in marriage to the former Ruby F. Ross, who survives at Belington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Kirby Watson and wife, Annie of Belington; two sisters, Grace Shifflett of Dodson Run and Bessie Ramsey of Elkins; three brothers, Charlie Watson of Valley Bend, Richard Watson of Belington and Donald Watson of Dailey.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, three stepgrandchilden, several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters, Orrie Griffith, Eunice Raines and Margie Vanpelt; and four brothers, Everett, Willie, Lewis and Ronald Watson.

Mr. Watson was formerly employed in New Jersey. He was a lumber stacker for Wares Sawmill in Belington before becoming disabled.

Arnold loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman. He was a Pentecostal by faith.

Arnold was a kind-hearted man and would do anything for anyone. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.

Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home in Elkins Thursday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. A.H. Belt will officiate. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman
