Arra Estaline “Red” Herron Currence 1945-2022 Obituary

Arra Estaline “Red” Herron Currence, 74, a resident of East Dailey, passed from this life Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at home surrounded by family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Red was born Friday, July 20, 1945, in Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Russell Monroe Herron and Jedi Lenora Taylor. On May 12, 1962, in Mill Creek, she married Buck Currence who survives at home.

Also left to cherish her memory are four children, Jacob Brian Currence and wife Kim of East Dailey, Michael Matthew Currence and wife Paula of Mill Creek, Buckey Lee Currence and wife Tammy of East Dailey, and Kenny
Ray Collins and wife Tina of Elkins, grandchildren, Heather Marie, Jacob Brian Jr., Amanda Lane, Benjamin Matthew, Brandon Lee, Erika Lynn, Cassy, D.J., Shane, great-grandchildren, Mikalea, Jasmine, Dakota, Aubrey, Eli, Bentley, Bailey, Ezra, Cadence, Chloe Jane, Jamie, Audrey, Kaleb, Ryder, Tegan, Casey, David, and three siblings, Beulah Jean Ramsey and husband Denny, Delbert Russell Herron, and Freda Burton.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were three siblings, Dorothy Mason, Arlene Moore, and Doyle Herron

Red attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed at Reidbord Brothers, Bata Shoe Company, and then as a convenience store manager until her retirement. Red was an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flower garden, and traveling with her sisters to go sightseeing. Red was a Methodist by faith and loved to sing with her family in the church choir.

Visitation will be at the Randolph Funeral Home Sunday, November 17, 2019, from Noon until 2:00 pm, the funeral hour. Pastor Marshall Williams will officiate and interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in East Dailey.
