Audrey Noah Burns, 77, of Norton, died at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Burns was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Wymer, a son of the late Joseph Lee and Zerna Mae Carr Burns.

On March 28, 1949, in Elkins, he married the former Unavale Joy Sampson, who preceded him in death on April 8, 1996.

Surviving are four sons, Audrey Noah Burns Jr., Elkins, Charles Wayne Burns, Norton, Randall Alan Burns, Newton Falls, Ohio, and Donnie Lee Burns, Warren, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Carol) Smith and Roger (Dodie) Wilson, both of Norton; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a great-granddaughter

Mr. Burns was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy. He also served with the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a retired steel worker and worked for Youngstown Steel in Ohio. He was a Methodist by faith.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends may call at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville. The presentation of the American Flag will be made by members of the H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion of Elkins.
