Infant Austin Ray Finlen, 3 months and 1 day old, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at 6:15 a.m. in the emergency room at Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health since birth.

He was born Feb. 6, 2002, at Buckhannon.

He will be sadly missed by his parents, Timothy Finlen and Peggy Sue Rucker, who survive at Mill Creek; one brother, Brandon Ray Finlen, at home; his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Pam Tenney Finlen of Adolph Road; maternal grandparents, John and Diane Shreve Rucker of Cassity; paternal great-grandfather, Thomas Jeff Tenney of Adolph; maternal great-grandmother, Ressie Scott Shreve of Cassity; paternal great-grandmother, Ethel Finlen Louk of Dailey; five uncles and six aunts, Johnny Rucker and Renee Burns, Toby and Jessie Finlen, all of Cassity, Tommy Finlen and Tasha Bird of Huttonsville, Chris and Muffy Henline, Rhonda and Max Smith of Mill Creek, and Tina Delcampo of Dallas, Texas; and several great-uncles, aunts and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Junior Shreve; paternal great-grandfather, Elmer R. Finlen; paternal great-grandmother, Violet Tenney; and maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Rebecca Rucker.

He was a patient at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital for two months.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Friday after 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, he will be moved to Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church for visitation from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Frank Long, pastor of the church, and the Rev. David Slawter, pastor of Markley Memorial Chapel, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery at Mill Creek.
