Barbara Ann Hinchman, 58, a former resident of Elkins, and a resident of Gallipolis, Ohio, for the past 32 years, passed away, Friday, April 26, 2002, at 12:30 p.m. in Holzer Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Thursday. She had been in failing health for the past four years.

She was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Randolph County, a daughter of the late Emerson and Nettie Summerfield White.

On March 19, 1968, she was united in marriage to Richard Hinchman, who survives in Gallipolis, Ohio.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Brad Allen Hinchman of Gallipolis, Ohio; four sisters, Velma Dolly of Ripley, Emma Cannon of Greensprings, Rita Williams of Pomona, Kan., and Joyce Trail of Belington; two brothers, Ronnie and Willard White, both of Ravenswood; her mother-in-law, Margaret Marie Hinchman of Gateway Apartments; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents is one brother, Emerson White Jr.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1962. Wile a resident in Elkins, she had been employed at Neal’s Drug Store, working in the darkroom, developing all pictures. She also had worked at Reidbord. She was a member of the Apololistic Doctrine Church of Harman and was a Pentecostal by faith.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. A.H. Belt, pastor of the Gospel Light Tabernacle, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
