Belva Pearl Canfield, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend, age 88, went to be with her Lord on March 20, 2013. She lived in Parsons, WV. She leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who consider it an honor and blessing to say they got to know such a caring and tender lady. Belva was the daughter of the late Clare Field Coffman and Eliza Grace Nestor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clyde Raymond Canfield and her sisters, Dorothy Price and Woodrow, Dessie Auvil and Ray, Delphie Freeman and Junior, Icie Holler and Robert, and Anna Coffman. Even though we know she is having a joyful reunion, there are many who will miss her greatly. Belva is survived by her three children; Julia R. Canfield and Jr. George, Marvin G. Canfield and Deanna, all of Parsons, and Karen Canfield of Lesage, seven grandchildren; Joy R. Pharis and Tim, Paul R. Cassidy Jr., Steve George, Sarah Lee and Greg, Jeremy Canfield, Angie Pase and Robert, Colby Hedrick and Carol, five great grandchildren; Travis and Byron Pharis, Sutton Pase, Anna and Isaac Lee, one great-great grandchild, Taliesin Pharis, and some very special chosen family; Cindy and Carleigh Lewis and niece, Hazel Price. She also had a host of nieces and nephews she loved very much. Those same hands that worked so hard to tend the garden, canned vegetables to share with others, stitched quilts with love to keep her family warm and always reached out to help others, was finally able to take the hand of her Savior. There is a celebration in Heaven going on right now and we will always be grateful God put her in our lives. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home in Parsons on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM and on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 12 until 2PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Alby Cunningham will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery.
