OBITUARY: BETTY ANN BENNETT Betty Ann Bennett, 69, of Moatsville, died Tuesday evening, March 27, at the Broaddus Hospital, following an unexpected illness. She was born May 26, 1942, at Galloway, a daughter of the late Oral Virtes and Arie Jane (Gainer) Ford. Surviving are four daughters, Patricia Ann (Greg Coniglio) Carpenter, Fairmont, Donna S. Abbott, Moatsville, Pam (Gary) Rhodes, Kenna, Sgt. Lacey Richards Thrush, serving with the U.S. Army, Germany; two sons, James Douglas (Shannon) Abbott, Moatsville, Brian Martin (Melissa) Abbott, Montrose; a foster daughter, Laura Arnett, Conneaut Lake, PA; ten grandchildren, Wyatt Rhodes, Bryan Rhodes, Emily Rhodes, Heather Kemp, Amanda Moore, Amber Abbott, Olivia Abbott, Tray Abbott, Travis Queen and Skylar Price; four great grandchildren, Ethan James Rhodes, Lily Louise Rhodes, Lexie Sophia Rhodes and Dillon Mathew John Kemp. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Lee Ford. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and the operator of the Hideaway Tavern. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and collecting antiques. She was Baptist by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 31, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. David E. Brown will officiate and interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Saturday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
