BETTY FLO McDANIEL Betty Flo McDaniel, 75, of Rt. #3, Philippi, died Friday, August 10, 2012, in the Rosewood Center, Grafton, following an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1937, in Elk District, near Philippi, a daughter of the late Goff and Ivah Virginia (Bartlett) Thomas. On May 6, 1960, at the Overfield Methodist Church, with the Rev. Browning officiating, she was married to Robert Karl McDaniel, who survives at their Rt. #3, home. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Karl McDaniel II, Philippi, William Joseph McDaniel and wife, Wendy, Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Jordan Rochelle Price, Elkins; one brother, Hugh Scott Thomas, Philippi; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Sally Rose Walker, Lucille Marie Lantz, Lila Jean Short, Lelia Ann Schoonover and Voie Louise Malcolm and by two brothers, Earl Wesley Thomas and Robert Lynn Thomas. Mrs. McDaniel was a 1955 graduate of Philippi High School. She was a homemaker and a consummate cook. She enjoyed taking care of her home, her family and her cats. She was Methodist by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 14, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Tim Bleigh will officiate and interment will follow in the Mary’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour on Tuesday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
