BETTY JANE CAIN Betty Jane Cain, 74, of Pepper Community, Rt. #1, Bridgeport, died Thursday, February 25, at her home following an extended illness. She was born June 3, 1935, at Folsom, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ora Clifford and Wilma (Bates) Davis. On June 13, 1959, at Flemington, she was married to Orville Burlen Cain, who survives at their home at Pepper Community. Also surviving are one son, Orville James Cain, Bridgeport; four daughters, Alice McGee and husband, John, Smithfield, Helen Young and companion, Danny Zirkle, Philippi, Nellie Starkey and Wilma Jane Starkey and companion, Willard Starkey, all of Flemington; eighteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two aunts, Lola Adams, Clarksburg, Evelyn and Billy Higgins, Bridgeport; and by several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Lee Cain; by a grandson, Robert Starkey; by two great grandsons, Erik Young and Logan Hardin; by one sister, Rose Mary Root and by two infant brothers. Mrs. Cain was a homemaker and was a former hotel and nursing home housekeeper. She was a member of the Brushy Fork C.E.O.S., the Brushy Fork Senior Citizens, the Trinity Pentecostal Church at Clarksburg and attended the Gospel Barn Assembly on Stonecoal Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 1, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Patty Post and the Rev. Jim Davis will officiate and interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. from 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Monday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
