Mrs. Betty Mae Swogger Wilt, age 68, a resident of Belington, departed this life late Tuesday evening October 26, 2021 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Death was following a period of declining health.

She was born August 1, 1953, at Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter and Helen Mantanis Swogger.

She is survived by husband; James Wilt of Belington, three children; Christopher James Wilt of Elkins, Becky Wilt and fiancé John Raye of Mingo, Ohio and Dawn Lawrence and husband Steve of Belington. Additional survivors include five grandchildren; Tommy Rust, Dakota Kincade, Devin Horne, Jeremy Horne and Cameron Rust, and a very special friend; Lisa Sutton of Ohio, who was like her sister.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings.

Betty was a graduate from the Steubenville High School in Ohio and was previously employed as a head start teacher. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguin fan. She loved her grandchildren and spending as much time as she could with them and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Betty’s request cremation will be honored. There will be a memorial service Monday November 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm with the Pastor Rick Hymes officiating. Due to Covid restrictions facial coverings and social distancing are highly recommended while paying your respects in the funeral home.
