Beulah Leota Beatty Glasscock, 87, a resident of 204 Wilton Ave., Elkins, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 15, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Allan C. and Sandy Glasscock at Petersburg. She had been in declining health since August 2002 and death was attributed to cancer.

She was born Saturday, May 27, 1916, at Rosedale, a daughter of the late John L. Beatty and Mary Boone Beatty.

On Sept. 24, 1939, at Friendsville, Md, she was married to John Charles Glasscock, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1984.

Surviving are one son, Allan C. Glasscock and wife, Sandria L. Glasscock, Petersburg; and two granddaughters, Jennifer L. Glasscock, Harrisonburg, Va. and Heather L. Glasscock, Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Charles Glasscock II, on Oct. 20, 1986.

Beulah was a graduate of Morgantown High School and served as secretary to Dr. Frank L. Shaffer of the Methodist Church at Morgantown. She later worked in the credit department at Montgomery Ward’s and at O.J. Morrison at Morgantown. She moved with her family to Dailey in 1947 and later to Elkins in 1956.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Elkins, the Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star and the Davis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as a volunteer until August 2002.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. At 7 p.m. at the funeral home, the Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct ritualistic services. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Friday at 1 p.m.. The Rev. Dr. Ellis E. Conley will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to the American Cancer Society, Randolph County Unit, in care of Polly O’Kernick, 105 Wilson Lane, Elkins, W.Va. 26241.
