Beulah Marie Jones 1911-2002 Obituary

Beulah Marie Jones, 91, a former resident of Montrose, passed away Monday, June 24, 2002, in Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs.

She was born April 17, 1911, at Montrose, a daughter of the late Orlan and Carrie Gainer Wilmoth.

She was united in marriage to Troy Jones, who preceded her in death on July 17, 1989.

She is survived by three sisters, Dora Woods of Marmet, Phyllis Cross of Elkins, and Evelyn Jones of Montrose; one brother, Clarence Wilmoth of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews including, Joe Jones, Glen Jones, Wanda Siler, Sherry Palko, Dianne Marstiller, Jim Jones and Robert Jones.

She never had any children of her own. However, she raised several including, Delbert Fife, Betty Fife, Floyd Channels, Earl Channels, Ralph Channels, Lawrence Channels, Ray Channels and Ann Schoonover and two that are deceased, Bob Channels and Betty Channels Evans.

Also preceding her in death are three sisters, Vinnie Scruggs, Pauline Crawford and Eva Channels; and three brothers, Darl, Bryan and Arthur Wilmoth.

She attended the schools of Randolph County and received her LPN License in the 1950s. After receiving her license, she did private duty for several families in the Elkins area. She was also the supervisor of food service for Davis & Elkins College. For six years she was the night supervisor at Nella’s before retiring. She was a member of Israel United Methodist Church at Montrose.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Thursday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner chapel Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley of Elkins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
