Billy Joe House, 74, a resident of Route 1, Box 272-11 Buckhannon, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 9, 1928, in Barbour County, the son of the late Thornton and Dorothy Johnson House.

His wife, Joan King House, preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Roger House, Clarksburg; one daughter, Shelia House; four brothers, Harry House, Happy Valley, Ore.; James House, New Mexico; Donald House, Princeton; and Charles House, Durham, N.C.; four sisters, Lois Jean House, Clarksburg, Phaedra Hamdam, Mary Small, Buckhannon, and Linda House, Alexandria, Va.; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward House; one sister, Pauline House; two half brothers, Buckley House and John House; and four half sisters, Hazel Hollen, Clara Rowan, Esta Liston and Cloa Teets.

Mr. House retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. He served in Korea during the Korean War, in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and retired after 26 years of service.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Rev. Dennis Estes will officiate and interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663 and the Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion will conduct graveside military rites.
